Over 200 guests from VCs, Start-ups and Corporates gathered at Day One Venture Night in Düsseldorf to discuss how entrepreneurial spirit can have a positive impact on the economy and society. As part of the event, our Head of Henkel dx Ventures, (he-him) Marc Thom and Head of Partnerships Michaela Bessell gave a keynote about the market trends influencing venture capital today.

Pitchday aka demo night at Ignition, the accelerator of digihub - Digital Innovation Hub Düsseldorf/Rheinland GmbH. It’s great to see how the digital ecosystem in the region has flourished. Since the start of Ignition in 2017, the accelerator has supported 77 start-ups with about 1.73 million euros provided by a public-private partnership. 201 founders received training and mentoring. The efforts paid off: 78% of the supported start-ups are still in business.
Time flies. Two months have passed, and a lot has happened since this year’s Xathon, Henkel dx Venture's hackathon for female founders. Most notably, the winner Evoléna de Wilde d'Estmael has launched the browser extension Faircado that proposes second-hand alternatives to new products. That way, it aims to turn linear consumption into circular consumption.
